Make Money From Home – Can You Do it Without Money?
When you first start out to make money from home it is usually because that seems to be the best option left to you in your financial dilemma. Perhaps you just lost your job, or you have a new baby and don’t want to go back to the work force. Perhaps you need to care for an elderly parent. Perhaps you feel your present job is taking you nowhere and furthermore it is not secure. There are many reasons.
No doubt you found numerous business opportunities online each of which sounded better than the one before, all promising easy money. It is sometimes very confusing. Or perhaps you jumped in quickly and bought one of them without thinking too much about it. However, the facts are, with a few exceptions, that making money online not only requires a commitment to hard work but also requires some money to start — not a lot, but some money. The old adage is still true, it takes money to make money. While it is possible to start on a shoe string and it has been done, there are at least minimal costs attached on top of your initial investment, which might have been very small in order to entice you to buy. Here are some things you might run into:
Initial phase
In the training phase in many plans there are lots of videos to watch which make it seem quite fast and easy. Possibly you are given a website and a domain name. You are introduced to something called Pay Per Click which seems to be the best way to make money but has its own hazards especially if you don’t understand what you are doing. If you can’t afford to lose any money at all, it’s best not to go this route.
Affiliate Marketing
No doubt you will be introduced to affiliate marketing where you sell other people’s products and get a commission if they buy from you. There is a good selection to choose from and thousands of people have made money this way. But there are steps to reach that point. You will no doubt need a website or at least a blog to start marketing and advertising your affiliate. Sometimes the website you have been given is for advertising the program you are presently in. To sell in other affiliate markets you may need other websites which cost money to buy and maintain. Affiliate marketing is still the system of choice if you can manage to do this.
Article Marketing and blogs
To be fair, there are truly free ways to work at your business. Article marketing and also blogging are free. But to be successful these are tied to websites you presumably have and that is how they help you make money. But don’t despair, get busy and use these free methods. You are generally told that if you have more time than money, go ahead and use these free methods although it will take you longer to make any profit.
What does all this mean?
I’m sure you have been through all this in the training in your program and perhaps your experience has been different, but if you haven’t started yet, you will soon be introduced to all these systems over time. They are basic to internet marketing.
It means that though you don’t need a lot of money, there will be times when you need to spend something in order to take the next step. So in your overall household budget, be sure to allow a small amount of money to purchase any helps suggested which will assist you to advance faster. My advice to you is if you can possibly set aside $500.00 or so as a special budget to use as needed, it will help you get started faster.
Don’t lose hope if you are struggling with budget. By combining all the free methods you have at your disposal and finding a small budget somewhere for hosting a website, you can climb the ladder. In your initial purchase check to see what is provided in the beginning. Don’t let lack of money hold you back.
To sum up, I would suggest that you start out with a blog (it’s free), and start doing articles even if it is just for practice to begin with, and then venture into affiliate marketing in any way you can. If you can find someone who has gone before you or if you can find a program with coaching or good online chat support, that is the very best. Also try forums. Those of us who are doing this with very little money can still succeed.
